Week 2 - Where are the Referees?

Canyon Springs cant find a Doctor last year and now they can not find anyone to Referee a game! What is up with this! The NIAA is refunding $$ and I have heard that those who bought tickets are not getting refunds? Greed plain and simple. What is up with Liberty getting a win? I thought that they were banned from winning! Of course Meadows does what I said that they would do - whip a 4 A school!

Basic vs Eldorado - Basic took a tune up against Boulder City last week. Eldo looks like the same bunch that has gotten used to losing. Got to like a team who understands winning. Give me Basic 28-13

Coronado vs Shadow Ridge - Coronado wins with all of the drama going on. Shadow shows that they still have plenty of horses to fight to victories. Shadow shows their speed here 34-13

Del Sol vs Chaparral - Del Sol continues their ways of dominating a line of scrimmage. Chap is used to being a fast starter. Not a good matchup for the Cowboys here. Dragons 34 Chap 13

Foothill vs Cimarron - Both came up empty last week against out of state invadors. Hard to get a handle on who really is the stronger team after these efforts. I am going with the road team CM in this one. CM 20 Foothill 13

Green Valley vs Centennial - GV slept walked in their close win against poor Bonanza last week. Now they get the Dogs also coming off of a win. Give me a tougher Centennial in this one 28-20

Mojave vs Silverado - The questions about teams being able to score against the Sams Club boys came true last week. Mojo took the week off and bring the speed over to the retail High School of Las Vegas. Give me defense - Silverado 20 Mojo 6

Liberty vs Valley - Bad matchup for Valley last week while previous nomad team of the year Rancho did not show up against Liberty. I am going with Valley to put up a better effort 28-27

DP vs Spring - DP could not get it going last week. While SV was flat out - well a good warm up team. Give me DP in a close one 20 - 13

Rancho vs Clark - Now Clark loses an opener as a favorite last week. So is it the same Clark or did they just get lost on their way to Anthem? I will take Clark one more time in a bounce back after last week. Remember no Valet parking at this game! Clark 20 Rancho 12

Vegas vs Snow, Utah - Now Vegas showed us that they can beat up on a North team in week one, however they let Douglas hang around a little too long for the talent on their side of the football. Snow presents issues to teams that want to play smash mouth football. Snow wins 34 LV 27

Palo vs Sierra Vista - Now SV has to say how many times can we give the ball to Sharp? Sad to say that SV was within a heartbeat of beating Palo last year in the regular season if not for poor special teams play. Palo will dominate this game and pour it on. PV 50 SV 6

Arbor View vs Durango - Some things have not changed - Durango is still bad. Arbor is coming around after a nice end of the season and with an opening win against Eldo. I want to take AV in this one 34 - 13

Cheyenne vs Western - The Warriors took a step back from last year's talented team. Chey town lays low and just reloads a talented team. Give me Chey town in a blow out 34- 12

Legacy vs Bonanza - Hey when Legacy goes up and beats a solid program in Galena on the road, you are looking at a program on the rise. Legacy will take care of business now 27-13

Gorman vs Arch Bishop Reardon, Ca - So they have now taken on a team from Arizona and Alaska in back to back weeks. Now they travel to a tough Nor Cal opponent. Lets look at the Nor Cal squad in this one. Give me Cali 34 Gorman 20

Desert Oasis vs Pahrump - Now it is time to see the newest member of the 4 A class take on the smooth Jazz sounds of a team coming off a beating at Meadows last week. Give me the Rump to get a nice start against Las Vegas squads 41-7

Ok I will put one 3 A game on the board this week in Boulder City against Mojave, AZ. I think that this was the team begging to be a part of the NIAA and did not get let in. Boulder has solid coaching and they should take the lessons learned from the Basic win and get a tough road win this week. BC 28 Moj wanna be's 20
