| 2008 Top Ten Football Teams in Nevada | ||||
|
So what did we learn from Week 1? McQueen is good. Las Vegas can handle a Northern team in Week 1. Palo looks like a team on a mission. Cheyenne has reloaded and they will be a team to be dealt with in the tough NW. Gorman continues to play a geography schedule, now heading to Nor Cal to take on a tough opponent. Silverado's Defense is tough. Del Sol has replaced a solid O line. Here is the top 10 | ||||
|
Top 10
1. McQueen - 1-0
2. Las Vegas - 1-0
3. Palo Verde -1-0
4. Bishop Manogue 1-0 - Nice win over Reed is worth noting.
5. Bishop Gorman - 1-1 - Loss against a loaded former 5A Champ in Arizona needs to be forgotten. Alaska win expected.
6. Silverado - 1-0
7. Canyon Springs- still waiting for the officials to show up no game last week
8. Cheyenne- 1-0
9. Del Sol - 1-0
10.Centennial - 1-0 - nice opening win puts them into the top 10 for the first time, Should stay there after a GV matchup.
Dropped out - Reed after losing against Manogue last week
Worth noting - Legacy comes up to Reno and beats Galena. Las Vegas cruises in a win against Douglas. Palo destroyed Reno at home in a suprisingly easy win. South 3 North 0. Understand that the Gorman loss was at a newly created matchup between last year's State Champions between Arizona and Gorman. With a school of only 1400 ppl against a 3,000 ppl school - hard to compete with those numbers. If McQueen or another school wins the title this year, it is unfair to think that our Nevada schools reload so easily. So we are giving Gorman a pass in their early season loss. |
